As a Fashion Merchandising major at Los Angeles TT, Alonso Tal decided he wanted to pursue a different style of work, one without “all the restrictions”—ethical, compositional and otherwise—of Fashion. He studied the books and careers of photographers such as Gordon Parks and Bruce Davidson and, bought a Leica Minilux, and started to explore the grounds of photography .
” He taught himself portraiture by photographing friends and shortly after he started a personal project, “ Wait ” a free-form investigation of the people and landscape of Downtown - Los Angeles, Ca. He’s since expanded the project to an going project titled MORETRACKBIKE were he shares a look into the Global Cycling world with a emphasis in the Fixed Gear Sub-cluture. The project combines landscapes, portraitures and unpredictable moments. It considers such themes as, Urban cycling, Competition, Travel, and how Geographic & Cultural diverse the sub-culture is and remains.
